I joined the Quidditch Team, I’ve gone Mad Haven’t I?

January 31, 2008

I joined the Slytherin team and am a fair Seeker if I say to myself (and I do, often and repeatedly).  Sadly as i am a first yaer and I don’t have my own broom I am what they charmingly call a back-up.  Still if pressed I could probably manage to come across a broom in my travels in the school. All those years of waiting in secret has made me the most perfect spy, I have little doubt that we will win the Quidditch cup this year.  With my help of course.

Another weekend spent doing Homework.

January 19, 2008

The Wizengamot is still out on this school thing.  It’s a lot of effort but I can see it’s worth.  Slytherin House is very quiet of late.  It makes it easier to actually get one’s work done I suppose.  We have had an assignment handed out to make parcels for fellow students.  I have have been given the assignment of making a package for a Ravenclaw.  (The 6th years call them magpie minds! too funny if you ever want to distract one-look a shiny new puzzle!) While I normally am not a sociable type I have to admit I am enjoying school more and more.  The RC that I was assigned is quite interesting and is keeping a blog of her own.  (Still makes me think of indigestion) I have completed most of the task of assembling a sock kit for Magic in Threadwork and Weaving.  I am awaiting an owl to deliver yarn.  And awaiting my “allowance” to buy the stitch markers and another skein of yarn.  This actual paying for things is for the birds (ha). Still I gave my word and I will not steal while I am a student here.  (Perhaps not until the next Hogsmede weekend I doubt I am still a student when I am not in school…)

The things Muggles will Do to compensate for Magic

January 13, 2008

As I have been instructed by my Muggle Studies Professor to start trying to do things in muggle fashion.  Thus I have given up my charmed journal for a …blog. Doesn’t it sound like indigestion?  Blooooooggg.  Ugh!  Still as I understand it some muggles keep thier money in this internets thing so it may be something worth learning.  I still don’t see where they hide it. Oh I pushed a button and a tray came out.  It has a large silver disc in it.  It’s huge.  I’ve never seen muggle money like this before.  It must be worth a few galleons.

Still this wordpress thing is rather daunting.  I’m not carring for it much.  There is this whole section on the side that is not co-operating at all. Still if a muggle minds can manage so can I.  Perhaps I should pay a Ravenclaw to do my homework for me.  Perhaps I can trade it for this large shiny coin.  (Why is there a hole in it?)  Still I need to figure out how to get a picture on the side of this blog (*sigh*  the more I say it the more I think I need to report to the infirmary.)

Wand Shopping

January 12, 2008
I have been asked by a friend about my wand it’s a bit oversized at 13 inches.  It’s Holly which is the strongest of the protective woods. It is used to guard against evil in fact Holly means “holy”. Holly wands excel at combat, defense, and protection spells. It is also useful in glamour’s and warding. This wand tends to pick an owner who’s brave and pure of heart, not to mention has a high intelligence. Holly’s personality is Determined while it’s element is Fire. It has a griffon feather core. The gryffon originated in Greece, having the head and front legs of an eagle, but the hind quarters of a lion. Gryffon feathers are used in wands of wizards or witches who posses great strength whether physically, magically or emotionally. These wands are especially good for both offensive and defensive magic. On the whole I think I’ed have prefered a wand more easily concealled but still it’s a powerful wand and it seems somehow right.  I sent it back to the shop to be properly finished, it looked far too much like a simple stick for my tastes.  Something more befitting my talent and station is clearly called for.  I should be able to post a picture but all I have at my disposal is a muggle camera taken from a rather stange tourist in London.  Once I fine someone who understands these things I shall post a picture.

Slytherin House Seems Empty Somehow..

January 11, 2008

..So I decided to get a cat.  His name is Spooky.  He isn’t the refined, dignfied feline I was hoping for as a matter of fact he seems to go all sortd of lengths to get a “tummy rub” .  I am, however, elated to discover he doesn’t snore.

New School

January 10, 2008

hsks4logo.jpgWell the start of a new term at a new school.  Already no one knows what to do with me. At first it looked like I’ed be sorted into Griffandor but no, I had to talk the hat into it but a Slytherin I am. (Just think of all the contacts I can make) I should be used to it by now.  I wasn’t to shocked to discover the fact that I had been excepted into Hogwarts, I am after all a pure blood, but am only welcome on the condition I not steal anything once the term started.  The headmistress was quite firm about that. We’ll see school may not be worth the trouble.  I bought my wand the other day I thought about stealing one but really it’s best to make sure you get the right one.  I am not above paying for something when I have to.  Of course it did use up a good chunk of my funds so I decided to get my other supplies on the 5 finger discountplan.  Really all the students arrive at Diagon Alley the same day and no one thinks to put on extra staff.  If you ask me they deserved to have thier goods lifted.  Stopped by Gringott’s, goblins seem to have the right idea as security is fairly tight.  Maybe I’ll learn something useful in school this year to help me get into the vaults.  Like anygood theft it just takes 2 elements.  Patience and cunning.

slytherinheader.jpgI can’t make my mind up about school.  It’ll be nice to be away from the muggles but where is the thrill, the challenge?  It waits to be seen how long I can stand this routine.  But still patience and cunning always reap rewards.
